The junior football program at Castlemaine Football Netball Club provides a good, fun atmosphere and balances that with a quality program providing solid opportunities for development and exposure. We focus on developing skills and fitness and fostering young talent.
Our positive culture is central to everything. We encourage all members of the community to get involved and we pride ourselves on the active involvement of our senior men and women in junior development.
We welcome players of all ages and skill levels. Whether your child is new to football and wants to come and learn our national game or is already experienced and keen to progress their footy in the strongest competition in our area, we can support them.
Our Auskick, Under 9, Under 10 and Under 12 Girls programs are a perfect way for boys and girls just finding their feet in the game to get a great grounding, make friends and get active.
As a Hub for the Bendigo Pioneers Football Club and home to one of the Pioneers’ Junior Pathways Programs, our junior footballers from Under 12 up to Under 16 and Under 18 girls, have the opportunity to further develop their skills and play football at the highest level.
With a strong team of fully accredited coaches, great ratios and first class brand new facilities at the Wesley Hill Recreation Reserve, we can offer your child a great experience whatever their footy experience and their goals are.

Under 9 & Under 10 Football Development
The Bendigo Junior Football League (BJFL) includes an awesome modified program for girls and boys playing Under 9, Under 10 and Under 12 Girls to get to know the game.
Play happens on a reduced size ground and runs for 4 x 10 minute quarters; with no scores, ladders or finals allowed. Modified tackle and marking rules, no smothering, shepherding or barging means kids get to know the game and learn the skills to take them to the next level in a safe, inclusive and fun environment.
Kids can then progress on to our U12, U14 or U16 teams or through to our fantastic junior girls program.
Under 12, Under 14 & Under 16 Football
Our Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16 teams provide the next step for junior footballers wanting to further develop their skills.
Junior Girls Football
Our region’s fantastic junior girls program has been expanded this year by the BJFL to include an U12,U14 and U16 competition in recognition of the growing interest in female football in our region.
Under 12 Girls play modified rules (same as the Under 10 boys)
